First, the show needs USN Adviser to help with the ship handling and protocol of how Naval Personal work and act on board a ship. Should be some marines aboard to protect the weapons.

Sailors never salute inside a building or ship. A 5" Gun could not move fast enough to shoot down a chopper, the new one might, not that unit affixed to the Ship. The Captain (Commander = O-5) is called the captain because he is assigned to the command of the ship, hence he is called the captain, although he does not hold the Rank of Captain (O-6).

The premise of the show is marginal at best, but possible (On The Beach-Gregory Peck) could happen, and the virus might not be able to reach the poles and affect the personnel on the ship.

It was entertaining, but predictable, hope it gets stronger in plot, get technical advice to strengthen the show.
